Shop Locksmith Wanted at Capital Lock – Join a Growing and Dynamic Team!
Capital Lock, a leading commercial locksmith in Southern Wisconsin, is seeking a Shop Locksmith or Locksmith Apprentice to join our team in downtown Madison. With a reputation for knowledgeable and skilled staff, Capital Lock is growing fast and needs another talented locksmith to assist with on-site jobs and shop duties. We offer complete on-the-job training, so no experience is necessary. However, we’re looking for someone who is mechanically skilled, detail-oriented, and an independent worker.
Responsibilities:
- Answer phone calls and assist customers with their inquiries and job requirements
- Perform shop duties such as key cutting, key stamping, inventory management, rekeying, cleaning, etc.
- Assist with on-site jobs, including installation of new door hardware and other security systems
- Analyze complex problems and employ critical thinking to devise solutions and troubleshoot any issues that arise
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; some experience in facilities or maintenance industry is preferred
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and be comfortable driving a company vehicle to job sites
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with customers and team members
- Basic understanding of power tools and other locksmith equipment
- Professional demeanor and presentation; ability to maintain a high level of customer service
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize workload with minimal supervision
- Ability to adapt to changing work environments and think creatively to find the best solutions to complex problems
- Willingness to learn, make mistakes, and grow personally and professionally
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. on occasion, walk and be on their feet most of the day, and repeatedly go from standing to kneeling position
- Ability to work in a loud environment and operate power tools safely
Wage and Benefits:
We offer a competitive pay range of $17.50-$25.00 per hour, depending on experience. Additionally, we provide a flexible work environment that doesn’t require working nights or weekends.
