Combination Padlocks
Like keyed padlocks, combination padlocks come in all sorts of sizes. In addition to size, the issue here is do you want a pre-set combination, or do you want to be able to set (and reset) the combination yourself.

A good bike lock not only provides good security, it also is biker friendly.

Door Viewers
See who is on the other side of the door before you open it! The best security strategies usually employ common sense. The only question here is how big an area do you want to see. Keep in mind that the larger the viewer, the more you will see.

Window Pins
Older double hung windows are easy to get into. They typically have simple locks that can be "slipped", and if not, thin glass that is easily broken allowing access to the lock. A "pin" inserted in the window frames where they overlap, makes them very difficult to get into. Pins are typically installed with the window in the closed position, though a vent position can also be created so that the window can be locked in a partially open position.

Window Vents
A Window Vent is used to lock a window into a partially open position. While opening any window reduces security, it is sometimes practical to be able to lock a window in an open position that cannot be changed except by the homeowner.

One of a thief's favorite entry points, patio doors needs special attention.

Window Gates
Luckily we don't live in so dangerous a community that we need grates on all our windows (have you ever been to Miami?). However, some windows may be best protected by putting grates on them. Basement windows are the likeliest candidates. Always remember, if you need to get out in a fire, give yourself the ability. There are ways to be both safe and secure.

Personal Alarms
A personal alarm is simply a way for an individual to make a lot of noise whenever they feel the need. Imagine walking from the office to the car at night and someone approaches you with unsavory intent. A personal alarm will set off a loud sound, attracting attention, and likely scaring off the perpetrator.

Travel Alarm - Door Stop
When you travel, have you ever wondered who had the keys to your room? If you think its tough at the office, think what it is like in a hotel. This travel alarm lets you know if anyone opens the door to the room you are in with a loud piercing alarm. You'll wake up, others will likely hear it also, and the perpetrator will likely be on their way. The unit will also keep the intruder out by wedging the door.

Key Hiders
The idea is to hide a key where you can find it and others cannot (or at least aren't likely to). Sometimes it is a good idea to really find an unusual spot to hide a key (and hope that you can remember where) other times it might be best to be right out in the open (looking like something else).
